Artifact Stories
Artifacts
Artifacts are important objects that will get handed down in your family. Photographs are probably one of the most common and important of these personal treasures that you want to preserve and understand.
Connected Stories
Artifacts have some kind of story connected to them, typically. If that isn’t recorded somewhere the significance of that artifact could eventually be lost. It’s not only important to hand down the artifact, but also the story that goes with it.
Stories Behind the Artifacts
On Capture Day we will record the stories behind things like Works of Art, Heirloom Furniture, Antique Photographs and other artifacts and incorporate those stories into multiple forms of media. We will create a video where you can hear and see the original telling of the story. But we will also create a high quality photograph (or multiple photographs for 3D artifacts) that have caption information embedded in them.
Digital Image files have a capacity to store information about the Image within the file. This includes a caption field, and tags that can assist with making it easier to find a photo or file within a large collection of images. We leverage this capacity to make it easy to keep the stories connected to the artifacts.
We record the history of these artifacts, transcribe that information and add Caption and Tag data to your files. This takes time, but we think it’s worth it for you to have multiple quality records of your important family treasures.
Quality Digital Copies of your Photos and Artifacts
Ideally your artifacts will continue to exist through all the ages and the images with captions and tags that we create will only serve as an index to keep the stories and artifacts together. However, if time and entropy take their toll and your precious family treasures are damaged or lost, these records of what used to be, could theoretically be used to recreate your artifacts, or at least prevent their memory from being erased by time.
