Life Story Interview
1-2 hours Record Time- Life Story Interviews include a two camera interview with lighting and close placed mics for the best quality results. We edit down to around 5 different output options. Usually that means a full length cut, an 8-15 minute cut, and 3 different succinct “stories.”
Family Artifact Stories
Video Story and Photos with Captions- We create high quality video record of the story that goes with each artifact (including family-member interaction with the artifact) and digital images of the artifact with caption and tagging information. We expect each of these stories to be under 5 minutes. Extra charges may apply for artifacts with long back-stories.

Creating a quality Family Archive is a collaborative project. How Long does it take to capture my stories and artifacts?
Time required is highly dependent on what your trying to capture. If you’re trying to record a couple Life Story Interviews and maybe capture 50 photographs with captions that will take approximately two days on site to complete.
How do I convince my older relative that they can and should do this?
Convincing someone to tell their life story requires trust. Asking them to tell it in front of a camera requires even more trust. So take the time to explain what you want to do. Let them get used to the idea. Perhaps even point out that they do have interesting stories. Reassure them that they don’t have to tell anything they don’t want to. At the end of the day most people do want to tell their story and once you can get them used to the idea, and help answer their concerns and build that trust, you can usually get this done. If it helps, offer some kind of treat as an incentive we all like rewards.
How should I prepare my space for the best results in an interview?
A clean company ready space is likely the main thing you can do. It is also good to be aware of where there’s good lighting in your house from sunshine or ambient lighting (we do bring lighting but prefer to blend into your environment). Also, be aware of loud or intruding background noises. We will be looking for a quiet place for the best audio recording.
What cloud storage solution should I use?
You should use the one that works best for your family. You want to pick a cloud solution with a good track record and name recognition, probably. Another consideration will be the implementation of app integration, especially apps for sharing photos and videos. There are some good solutions from Google, Microsoft, and DropBox. Apple, is difficult because non-apple users have limited access to the app features. One of our consultants can help you walk through this conversation, and sometimes you might even want to have a couple of different Cloud options that you use simultaneously.
